Arrivals #2

So i have been a little occupied these last couple weeks.  Sorry for the slow breaking news…what can I tell you.

My first grand-daughter, Elle Payton Young was born, rather quietly, on August 24th, 7 pounds 10 ounces of sweetness, to Courtney and Andrew Young.  So within the span of about three weeks, I have in my arms treasures that has traken me years to get ready for.  How can such new creations, Gavin and Elle, birth in me such longing and love?  And now I have a cold and I can’t even hold and kiss them, but that too will pass.

Thank you for this wonderful book. It has been such a blessing to me that I have been buying it to share with other believers.

May you enjoy and be blessed with the new gifts of life the Lord has placed in your journey.

In His love I thank you, Kathy

Oh grandkids, I have 2 both boys which I never got to experience as a momma. So thankful the good Lord saw fit to make sure the experience was mine, cuz next to him nobody loves me more!!! Since my hubby, Mark passed on five years ago, I am so glad they live just down the road from me so I get to spend time with them often.
Enjoy and celebrate, I am sure you are!!

We went on holiday for a week, and found out that both my husband and I had heard about and obtained a copy of your book for reading on vacation. I had heard about it at work, and my husband had been given a copy by one of our pastors. I am so blessed to have read it — so much to think about, some of it painful. There was so much to contemplate, that I will have to read it again to comprehend the magnitude of relevation of the Father’s heart.

I was very blessed to hear you speak last night in Kitchener. I “accidently” came across your book while I was on a mission trip to the Philippines in Feb. 2008. Someone had donated a considerable amount of books to give to pastors at a pastors conference that our team was involved in. As I went through the books, I came across your book and thought that it was fiction so I took it home with me to read on my 20 hour journey home. I had no idea how this book would impact my life!! I couldn’t put it down till I was done; and I’m NOT really a reader! I gave it to my son, who is my pastor. He told our congregation that this was the first book that he read that made him cry and then he recommended that everyone read it. In the last year, I have been overwhelmed by the brokeness of the lives of people that God has put in my path. As you shared you testimony, I began to begin to understand why people do the unrational things they do. The understanding of it enables me to move on in my counselling “attempts” and gives me the grace to love these people as our Papa does. Thankyou for sharing your life with us so we can help other lives come to knowing our Father in such an intimate way!

Such a beautiful little branch to your family tree! Arn’t babies wonderful? I have been dabbling in my family tree for sometime and found that my great great Grandfather Joseph Parker Jr. of Monroe Co. WVA married Elizabeth Young who;s daddy was James Young! Isn’t that a hoot! Parkers, Youngs, Campbells, Kincades, Gilliams, Jarratts, Wingfields ! That’s just on my father’s side of the family! What a mongral we all are.

Congradulations! If this little one fills your heart with half as much joy as my two little grandsons fill mine, you will have much to look forward to.

My 33 year old school librarian daughter read The Shack first and said, “Mom, this is THE best book I’ve ever read. I cried most of the way through it.” I read it and agreed–it’s a great book. I commend you for working through your “stuff”. I heard you on James Robison today and was so extremely proud of how God has turned your junk into jewels. I’m 62 and have spent the last 6 years working through abuse as well. So your book was helpful to see that I’ve done a lot of really hard work. Most people really don’t work through their junk to healing. I’m so glad we have. May God continue to use your work for His glory!
